55th Ascension Anniversary Of Jagadamba Saraswati Observed By Brahma Kumaris HQ

Mount Abu (RJ): The Brahma Kumaris observed the 55th anniversary of their First Administrative Head, Highly Honourable, Most Respected Jagadamba Saraswati (lovingly called ‘Mama‘) with great dedication, love and respect.

On this occasion, Senior Rajayogi BK Shashi and BK Sheilu shared elaborately about the life incidents, teachings and inspirations of Mateshwari Jagadamba Saraswati(World Mother).

BK Sheilu shared that, Mother Jagadamba was an idol of sacrifice, penance and service.  Moreover, she surrendered herself for the betterment of  mankind and thus set an example before us of how a women can sacrifice her comforts and play a key role in the enhancement of  human values.

Men and women who came into contact with Mother Jagadamba got rid of their anger and depression, bad habits, cruelty and cunningness, false and forfeiting nature, thinking of others, problems, stress and addictions and became helping hands in the upliftment of society.

She also added that Mother Saraswati possessed the powers of the Soul, strength of Remembrance, Divinity, Purity and Spirituality. With these powers in her, Mother Saraswati attracted everyone like a magnet and saved them from the heat of vices and bad deeds and led them towards divinity. She later stated we all should imbibe the teachings of Mother Saraswati and spread peace, love, compassion, oneness and positive thinking, which would be the real homage we pay to her.

On this occasion BK Shashi showed light on the life of Mother Jagadamba: It is a matter of pride to say that the extraordinary girl named Om Radha was born in Amritsar, Punjab, in the year 1919.  At the tender age of 16 she surrendered her life to the Brahma Kumaris and inspired people of all walks of the society in keeping themselves away from vices, weaknesses and shortcomings. She was always relaxed, fearless and patient even during challenging times. She sacrificed her mortal body at the age of 45 on June 24^th, 1965, and dedicated herself in the subtle service of mankind. She always said there is no assurance of this life and so we should use this very effectively, never repeat our mistakes, forget about the past and remember God to nullify your sins and make your impressions (sanskars) divine, pure and flawless.

More About Mama(Mateshwari Jagadamba Saraswati):

Mama’s parents named her Radhe. Her father dealt in the business of Gold, Silver and clarified butter.  She lost her father suddenly. Before his death,  he suffered massive loss in his business.  After this, Radhe started living with her maternal grandmother at Sindh Hyderabad,  along with her mother and younger sister.

She was a brilliant student,  always on top of her class. She took keen interest in dance and music. She liked dressing up in beautiful clothes.  She completed her studies till tenth grade.

After the death of her husband,  Radhe’s mother and maternal aunt, sought solace in Spiritual company. They went to Brahma Baba, the Founder Father of Brahma Kumaris. Radhe went there along with them. On her very first meeting with Brahma Baba, she felt a strong fatherly connection with him. She decided the course of her life very swiftly after that. At 17 years of age, Radhe decided to dedicate her whole life to the Brahma Kumaris.

From there onwards, she assimilated Godly knowledge in the company of Brahma Baba. She was eventually given the responsibility of Brahma Kumaris Organization.  Being its Motherly figure, and Chief Administrator, she played her part with dedication and success and became ‘Jagadamba’ ( World Mother).

*मातेश्वरी जी का जीवन परिचय*

यज्ञमाता जगदम्बा सरस्वती जी का लौकिक नाम राधे था। उनके पिता सोने-चाँदी का व्यापार करते थे और देशी घी के थोक व्यापारी थे। अचानक राधे के पिता की मृत्यु हो गयी। सोने-चाँदी के व्यापार मे और सट्टेबाजी मे उनका इतना घाटा हो गया था कि वे एकदम खाली हाथ हो गए। इससे उनको हृदयघात हो गया। फिर राधे अपनी माँ और छोटी बहन गोपी के साथ सिंध हैदराबाद अपनी नानी और मामा के घर आ गयी।

विद्यार्थी जीवन मे भी राधे में अद्वितीय लक्षण थे। राधे पढ़ाई में हमेशा नम्बर वन थी। गीत- संगीत तथा नृत्य कला मे भी नम्बर वन थी। स्कूल मे जब कोई स्पर्धा होती थी तो राधे को ही प्रथम पुरुस्कार मिलता था। राधे बहुत सुन्दर थी ।उनके बाल बहुत लम्बे थे । उन्हें बहुत सुंदर वस्त्र पहनने मे भी बहुत रुचि थी। पढ़ाई मे भी राधे बहुत होशियार थी । उन्होंने अपनी पढ़ाई मैट्रिक तक पढ़ी।

राधे की माँ और मासी दोनो के पतियों की मृत्यु हो जाने के कारण वे बहुत दुखी रहती थी और रोती रहती थी।
जशोदा माता ( ब्रह्मा बाबा की युगल ) के निमंत्रण पर राधे की माँ और मासी ने बाबा के सत्संग मे आना प्रारंभ किया। पहले ही दिन जैसे ही राधे ने अपनी माँ और मासी को सत्संग से आते देखा तो उन्हें बहुत आश्चर्य हुआ। राधे ने उनसे पूछा , ” कल तो आप दोनों बहुत रोती थी , आज तो चेहरे खुशनुमा हैं , खिले हुए हैं , वहाँ क्या मिला अपको ? ” तब उनकी माँ ने कहाँ , ” हम दादा के पास गए थे , वे बहुत अच्छा गीता ज्ञान देते हैं । तुम स्कूल मे तो गीता के बारे मे पढ़ती ही होगी , तुम भी चलो , सुनने के बाद हमे भी उनका अर्थ समझाना। ”

इस प्रकार , राधे को भी उनकी माँ अगले दिन सत्संग मे लेकर गयी। जब राधे को बाबा ने देखा तब उसी पल बाबा को लगा कि यह मेरी वारिस बेटी है और राधे को भी उसी क्षण महसूस हुआ कि यह मेरे बहुत काल से बिछडे़ हुए वही पिता हैं।

राधे ने एक ही पल मे जीवन का फ़ैसला कर दिया। उस समय राधे की आयु करीब 17 वर्ष थी। घर मे राधे की शादी की बात चल रही थी। एक दिन बाबा ने राधे से पूछा, ” राधे , तुमको पिताम्बरधारी से शादी करनी हैं या सूट-बूट वाले से ?” बाबा ने राधे को 24 घंटे का समय दिया था जवाब देने के लिए लेकिन राधे ने एक पल में ही भविष्य जीवन का निर्णय ले लिया और उसी पल बाबा को उत्तर दिया , ” बाबा , मै गिरधर गोपाल की वही राधे हूँ , मै इस ज्ञानमार्ग मे चलकर विश्व का कल्याण करूँगी। ”

उसी दिन से लेकर बाबा राधे के ऊपर ज्ञान की वर्षा बरसाने लगे और ज्ञान का कलश भी उनके सिर पर रख दिया अर्थात ज्ञान दान की जिम्मेदारी मम्मा को सौंप दी ।
