Nadiad: The three-day Media Skill Development Training was held for all the BK Journalists from State of Gujarat to develop their skills in Spiritual Journalism. The Media Wing of the Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation and Brahma Kumaris, Nadiad, Gujarat organised this program.
Professor Kamal Dixit, former Head of the Department at Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya and Senior Journalist in Bhopal; Professor Dr. Vinod Pandey, President of Journalism and Mass Communication Department in Gujarat College, Ahmedabad; BK Shantanu, Head Quarters Co-ordinator of the Media Wing at Mt. Abu; Mr. Harshit Mehta, Professor at Surajba Women’s College, Nadiad; Mr. Kalpesh Talati, Tantri DNN a Spiritual Channel, Nadiad; Dr. Somnath Vadnere, Department of Mass Communication, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon; Mr. Champak Modi, Writer, Nadiad; BK Poornima, Sub Zonal in Charge, Nadiad; BK Ranjan, Co-ordinator of the Media Wing, Surat; and BK Nandini, Media Wing Co-coordinator, Ahmedabad.
Prof. Kamal Dixit in his inaugural address stated, “Today values have degraded in every field including the Media and Journalism in which new dimensions are creeping in. Media is changing very fast from Mission to Profession. It lies on us to sustain the aim, objective and values in this field. The Brahma Kumaris efforts for the same cause are praiseworthy.”
In this connection, training was given to them on the skills of writing for Print, Electronic and Cyber Medias by Prof. Kamal Dixit, Prof. Dr. Vinod Pandey and Dr. Somnath Vadnere. BK Shantanu shared about Email and Media’s expansion and its aim and objective. BK Komal from Mt. Abu talked about the art of Television reporting. BK Nandini from Ahmedabad gave practical training in Photography.In the launching session, a book on “New Dimensions of Journalism and Media” was released, being written by Dr. Somnath Vadnere for the new Journalists to learn the skills of reporting.
At the end BK Poornima, BK Ranjan and BK Nandini expressed their gratitude and thanked everyone for their zeal and enthusiasm. The training was received by 140 members from all over the State of Gujarat.
