Mount Abu (RJ) : On the occasion of the 12th Remembrance Day of Dadi Prakashmani, Former Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris, on August 25th, a 21 km International Half Marathon was held in Mount Abu. Eighteen hundred (1800) participants from different countries including Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Canada and Nepal, participated in this event. The marathon was held to highlight the message of Universal Brotherhood and Goodwill given by Dadi Prakashmani.
The half marathon started from Manmohinivan, Talheti, Abu Road, and concluded at Pandav Bhawan, Mount Abu. This was certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). In accordance with the commitment of the organization to environmental protection, it was a plastic-free, eco-friendly event.
The event was flagged off at the starting point in Manmohinivan by Actress Pallavi Patil, Sirohi District Head Payal Parasrampuriya, Municipality Chairman of Mount Abu Mr. Suresh Thinger, Municipality Chairman of Abu Road Mr. Suresh Sindal, former MLA and former Deputy Chief Whip for the Government of Rajasthan Ratan Dewasi, Executive Chairperson of the Brahma Kumaris BK Mruthyunjyaya, Head of the Social Activity Group of the Brahma Kumaris BK Bharat, former Marathon runner Ms. Sunita Godara, Jaipur Marathon CEO, Mukesh Mishra and Senior Rajayoga Teacher BK Savita.
Arpita Saini from India, Alemu Addisalem and Agtew Genet Adeke from Ethiopia took the first, second and third places amongst the female runners of the half marathon.
Amongst the male runners, Areda Berhanu Feye from Kenya, Abderehman Asrar Hiyrden and Mohammed Sadik Hiseganu from Ethiopia took the first, second and third places.
An event was held in Om Shanti Bhawan in Mount Abu where the winners in both the women’s and men’s categories were given cash prizes and medals of appreciation by the organizers (the Brahma Kumaris).
KS Bhandari, Inspector General of CRPF’s Internal Security Academy; BK Sashi, Chairperson of the Brahma Kumaris Sports Wing; Suresh Thinger, Municipality Chairman of Mount Abu; Actress Pallavi Patil; Colonel BC Sati; BK Bharat, Head of Social Activity group; BK Bhanu, BK Jitu, and BK Sachin addressed the gathering and gave best wishes to all runners and winners.
A one-day camp on “Mind, Meditation and Marathon” was also held along with the main event. It focused on increasing mental concentration and achieving success with Rajayoga Meditation.

आबू रोड, 19 अगस्त, निसं। प्रदेश के दूसरी अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मैराथन का दर्जा प्राप्त दादी प्रकाशमणि अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मैराथन में धावकों का सैलाब उमड़ पड़ा। प्रात: काल से सही धावकों का जमावड़ा लग गया। मौसम का मिजाज भी अंतराष्ट्रीय मैराथन की अनुकूल था। इस अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मैराथन का उदघाटन करने पहुंची जिला प्रमुख पायल परसराम पुरिया ने कहा कि यहॉं की मैराथन पूरे विश्व में एक इतिहास बनायेगी क्योंकि यह पहली अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मैराथन है जिसमें प्लास्टिक का बिल्कुल उपयोग नहीं किया गया है। इससे आने वाले पर्यटकों के लिए एक अच्छा संदेश जायेगा।
