Guwahati (AS): As Floods started to recede in Assam and more than 5,00,000 people continuing to reel under the deluge in the state where death toll crossed 60, the Brahma Kumaris tried to extend a helping hand to the victims.
The Guwahati Chapter of the Brahma Kumaris did its best by distributing necessary relief materials like drinking water, biscuit packets, clothes, mosquito net and medicines to thousands of people affected by the monsoon fury.
Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Sheela, Incharge of Brahma Kumaris in Guwahati Sub zone, herself took the lead and guided a team of volunteers to provide solace to the people of Kamrup Rural and Morigaon districts in Assam. She was also accompanied by Vijay Gupta, Vice-President, BJP Assam, and Ramakanta Deuri, Morigaon MLA and Ms. Archana Bordoloi, Chairman, Morigaon Municipal Corporation. Udari, Bakharbori, Hagaltoli, Kamalpur, Athgaon, Sonapur and Binapani areas were covered for providing relief materials to the needy.
