Kolkata: The Foundation Stone of the “Global Enlightenment Centre” was laid by HE Keshari Nath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal, in the divine presence of Rajyogini Dadi Janki, Chief of the Brahma Kumaris.
HE Keshari Nath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal said, “Its a matter of great pleasure that Brahma Kumaris are going to develop a Spiritual Retreat Centre here at Bishnupur, Amtala, South 24 Pgs. As I understand, Brahma Kumaris are the centres for peace and inspiration from where a feeling of world welfare is generated. Everyone should forget the differences of caste, creed and religion and get such great inspiration from Brahma Kumaris. I admire the activities of Brahma Kumaris and hope that we shall co-operate for the development of individual, family, society and the country by acquiring values and spirituality with dedication.”
The “Global Enlightenment Centre” will be one of several Spiritual Retreat Centres of the Brahma Kumaris across India and abroad. It will also be the first massive project of the Brahma Kumaris in West Bengal, to be developed 2 Km away from Amtala, in Village Ramkrishnapur, Bishnupur.
The event started with a traditional Bhoomi Puja (prayer). Thousands of brothers and sisters from Brahma Kumaris centres and a galaxy of eminent persons from different walks of life graced the occasion.
Rajyogini Dadi Janki said, “Inner Peace and Inner Power are the need of the hour which can be obtained only through spirituality. The ‘Global Enlightenment Centre’ will fulfill this need.”
A mesmerizing Welcome Dance was presented by the BK Cultural Group and BK Kanan, Centre Incharge, delivered the welcome Address. After this, a Candle Lighting was done by all the guests together and the Foundation Stone Plaque was unveiled.
BK Rajni, Director, Brahma Kumaris, Japan and Phillipines; BK Gopal, Brahma Kumaris Head Quarters, Abu Road; and BK Atam Prakash, Editor, Gyanamrit, Shantivan, Abu Road, shared their inspirations for the Project and the event concluded with the distribution of Godly Gifts.
BK Punyavathi, Marine Engineer Officer, briefed the audience about the Project and BK Munni, General Manager of the Brahma Kumaris Head Quarters, Abu Road, extended her Good wishes to the Project.
A guided Mass Meditation was conducted which created an atmosphere of peaceful stillness and Godly vibrations.
The proposed project of the Global Enlightenment Centre aims to create a world class spiritual retreat-cum-training centre which will include: Auditorium, spiritual Art Gallery, Residential facilities to accommodate 500 people, Seminar Halls, Meditation Hall, Administrative Block, Healing Garden, Kitchen and Dining Block, Solar System for Lighting, Heating and Cooking, Water Harvesting Mechanism, Parking facility, etc.
The Vision and Mission of the Global Enlightenment Centre is to impart the highest socio-spiritual education and teachings of Rajyoga Meditation for promoting an enlightened, empowered and enriched lifestyle among all sections of society.
