Denpasar Bali: Eminent women in all walks of life participated in the event - International Women’s Day which was jointly sponsored by the General Consulate of India in Bali and Radio Republic Indonesia (RRI). The event was on air for 1 hour 30 minutes and many participants shared their views on women empowerment, future role of women for nation building and sustainable growth. Women are equal to man and play a prominant role in nation building, politics, social activities, health, education, etc.
Bk. Sister Hemlata, Director, Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Centres in Trinidad and Tobago said that the President of her country was a women. Bk Sister Janaki said that a shift in the mind set of people is necessary for the security of girls and women. Also respect has to be given from the heart to mothers, sisters and wi ves.
The gathering was held in the local Radio Station. All present were happy that many changes were happening to uplift the status of women in society but also mentioned that much more must be achieved so that women’s role in future can contribute significantly in nation building and all round health, wealth and happiness.
