​Brahma Kumaris introduce “Pause for Peace” ​P​roject at Devolution Conference ​​​at Kakamega​, Kenya​

KenyaThe Annual Devolution Conference was planned by the Council of Governors, Ministry of Devolution, Senate, Presidency, and the County Assemblies Forum in which Brahma Kumaris got a golden chance to attend the 5th annual Devolution Conference from 23rd – 26th April 2018 in Kakamega County, Kenya.

More than six thousand delegates among them most of the 47 County Governors, Senators, Cabinet Secretaries, Representatives of National Government, County Governments, Intergovernmental institutions, Media Agencies, Constitutional commissions, Independent offices, Private sectors, Academia and Professional bodies and citizens were present.

The Member of County Assembly for Parklands and Highridge area in Nairobi Honorable Mr Jayendra Malde accompanied the Brahma Kumaris sisters.
President H E Uhuru Kenyatta officially opened the conference on the first day and ODM leader and Former Prime Minister Hon Raila Odinga also gave a keynote address on the second day. Deputy President Hon William Ruto closed the conference on the last day with a keynote address.                                                                                                    The Chairman H E Josphat Nanok and vice-chairperson of Council of Governors H E Anne Waiguru were met and they vouched to support this project by working with the Brahma Kumaris. Many other Government officials and representative were met who were introduced to the Pause for Peace project and all of them supported and were willing to join in this initiative around the country.

Over a 100 booths from all over Kenya were set up as part of this conference and the booths of each County in Kenya, International Red Cross, Kenya Human Rights Commission, Public Service Commission, Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission, Ministry of Devolution, Kenya School of Government, National Youth Council, Moi University, Amref, Intergovernmental Relations Technical Commission, UNDP Kenya, UN Women Kenya Country Office, Ministry of Sports and Heritage, Youth, Gender, Sports and Culture were visited and introduced to the Pause for Peace project and contacts were shared for future connections.
