Brahma Kumaris Celebrate International Yoga Day at Red Fort, Delhi

Delhi: A huge gathering of about 50,000 yoga enthusiasts joined to celebrate International Day of Yoga(IDY) organised by the Brahma Kumaris at Red Fort, New Delhi.

The event began with the live telecast of the speeches of Rajyogi B.K. Brij Mohan, Additional Secretary General of Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu, Chief Organiser of IDY 2018 and  Rajayogini Dadi Janki, Chief of Brahma Kumaris which was followed by the live telecast of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation, after which everyone performed yogic exercises, asanas and Rajayoga Meditation.

Dadi Jankiji, Chief of Brahma Kumaris stated that ” Yog means connection through which you become light, receive might and serve others by becoming a light house. I the soul am light, which is natural.  To be light in thinking and living, and we receive might from the Supreme.  We need to return to land of peace, our true home, where there is no sound.  There cant be any disturbance in yoga, it is very easy.   It is just the connection, relation of soul with the Supreme soul. Its Easy Rajayoga, Karmayog, Practical life yoga  through which  Peace, Truth, Love, Happiness, and Power are experienced.  Today’s scene is wonderful. We just need to Care, Share and Inspire others.”

Honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi addressing a gathering at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun,  said in today’s fast changing time, Yoga binds together a persons body, brain and soul. Yoga has emerged as the biggest unifying force in the world. He extended his congratulations to all on International Yoga Day.

“Yoga needs to be practiced every day, inorder to be free from diseases” said Mr. Sudarshan Bhagat, Honorable Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs whilst giving his wishes to all participants and Brahma Kumaris for organising this event.

Mr. Derk Segaar,  Director, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC),  Dr. A.K. Merchant,  National Trustee, Lotus Temple and Baha’i Community of India,  Janab Firoz Bakht Ahmad  Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University,  Ven. Lama Lobzang,  Secretary General, International Buddhist Federation, Ven. Ezekiel Isaac Malekar,  Priest and Honorable Secretary, Judah Hyam Synagogue, BJP MP from Unnao, Sakshi Maharaj also participated in the grand event and extended their greetings for International Yoga Day.
