New York (USA): Sister Susan Serino, New York State Senator joined Diwali celebrations by Brahma Kumaris at Hudson Valley, the sub-branch of Peace Village located in New York. Senator Serino gave greetings on the occasion and was the chief guest for candle lighting ceremony.
Sister BK Kala, Director of Peace Village shared the spiritual significance of Diwali on how to clean the mind, so that we are free from negative thoughts and how to use knowledge to sustain flame of wick to be constantly lit.
Sister BK Kala presented a book “The Story of Immortality” to the Senator on the occasion in the presence of BK Champa, Co-ordinator of the BK Classes at Hudson valley and BK Dorothy, Programs Director at Peace Village. Program ended with guided meditation and refreshments.
