Manthan Award 2015 to Radio Madhuban 90.4 FM

Delhi: Radio Madhuban 90.4 FM has added one more jewel in its crown on 2nd December 2016 when it was ranked in top three community radio by Digital Empowerment Foundation, New Delhi for using ICT Tool for Community benefit. The MANTHAN AWARD 2015 recognition was received by our program “Aap Ka Swasthy Aap Ke Hath (ASAH)” which broadcasts every Sunday on frequency 90.4 FM in Mount Abu. The program ASAH is a LIVE phone in program which gives health counselling for Tribal people. This program attends 10-15 calls and 30-40 SMS’s in one hour of time. Which is a best example of ICT tools for public benefit.

The awards and recognition were distributed in the presence on Magsaysay Award Winner ​RTI​ Activist Mrs. Aruna Roy. The recognition as FINALIST in Manthan Award 2015 was received by only 3 community radio station in India. The Manthan Award is a first of its kind initiative to discover, recognize and honor the BEST use of ICT and digital tools for developmental purposes. The Award is less about technology and digital media but more about the right use of digital and technological tools to empower people. The year 2015 was 12th year of Manthan Award. The event was organised by Digital Empowerment Foundation in collaboration with Public Interest Registry and Vodafone Foundation in India Habitat Center, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
